[Bug 161646] Let Page Number Wizard (optionally) insert headers/footers in the margin area
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161646 --- Comment #4 from Justin L --- The code of course is in sw/source/uibase/shells/textfld.cxx. The existing page margin is easy to get: aNewDesc.GetMaster().GetULSpace() with .GetUpper() or .GetLower() "FooterBodyDistance" (Spacing) is forced here already. constTwips_5mm "FooterHeight" (Height) is left at zero, but in the UI it shows up as 0.10cm which is the minimum allowed in the UI. When set (SID_ATTR_PAGE_SIZE), this includes the FooterBodyDistance. The problem of course is going to be determining the height taken up by the Footer paragraph font size... If you look at the page header/footer UI when they are off, both "Spacing" and "Height" are set to 0.5 cm because DEF_DIST_WRITER is 500 tools::Long nDefaultDist = bIsCalc ? Remember, you can > select from top to bottom or left to right but also vice versa ending up at > the unusual position. There are other scenarios in which showing the active cell in a different way than the selected area is useful. [Bug 160203] Add ability to reference total number of list items
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160203 --- Comment #6 from William Friedman --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #4) > In other, generalized words you ask for a field "Paragraph Count" of a > certain paragraph style. I think this is not gonna fly. Besides a missing > definition in ODF I struggle with the basic concept of conditional variables > that not exist yet. Ultimately it sounds like a niche use case (actually > missing that) and rather suited for a macro. My apologies for responding a few days late. I believe this should be reopened. 1) Regarding the use case, I gave my own example in the initial report. For others, see: https://superuser.com/questions/166953/ms-word-reference-to-highest-number-in-a-numbered-list https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17315743/how-to-count-the-items-within-bulleted-list-vsto-word-2007 2) I understand that implementing this may require adding definitions to the ODF format, but I don't see the issue with "conditional variables that [do] not exist yet." That is the very nature of an enhancement request. It may make the request less likely to be fulfilled (there are, certainly, many requests of more necessary features that have gone unfulfilled for over a decade), but WONTFIX implies that the request is somehow fundamentally invalid, which is a judgment I don't understand. The ability to reference the number of elements of individual lists just seems like a basic function, even if its implementation is difficult. Thank you for your reconsideration. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Bug 161364] Add option to search not in either values or formulae but everywhere
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161364 --- Comment #6 from ady --- FWIW... (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #5) > We discussed the topic in the design meeting. Sadly, I am quoted incorrectly in the Minutes from the UX/design meeting 2023-Jun-19. I suggested to use a different terminology, specifically ***not*** "Everything". I also hinted (as a relevant matter) that there are other areas in which Calc does not perform a search, so any such "All" terminology (or similar/equivalent term) could be a problem. How would you explain users that the current search on "All" will not provide results for those other areas? And if those areas are included in the future, how would you differentiate the current suggested enhancement with such future potential expansion? Although this is beyond the scope of this particular ticket, it is still relevant but it was not discussed in the meeting. Once again, the lack of advance user experience in spreadsheets influences the results in Calc. But I don't get why it shouldn't be bug 125736. I think this bug/enhancement is a more generalized case than 125736. That bug, as I understand it, relates to whether adding columns changes the table width if there is more space. My request here focuses on what happens if the total table width is frozen and/or already spans the full page width. My enhancement request is to add the ability to freeze the width of certain columns, such that adding or deleting columns would not change their width. Dieter's comment 3 seems to miss the point. Obviously in order to add columns to a frozen-width table *some* columns will need to have their widths reduced. My request is to be able to fully customize *which* columns would have their widths reduced, by marking some columns as frozen. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 161717] New: Track changes: Clicking on change in document should highlight related change in "Manage Changes" window/sidebar
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161717 Bug ID: 161717 Summary: Track changes: Clicking on change in document should highlight related change in "Manage Changes" window/sidebar Product: LibreOffice Version: 24.2.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: gerry.trep...@googlemail.com Description: When working with track changes in a Writer document, it is currently not possible to identify/highlight/jump-to the related change in the "Manage Changes" window/sidebar. This makes working with documents with many tracked changes very difficult. Problem: If you have a long document with hundreds of changes, the "Manage Changes" window/sidebar is very important to work through the changes. However, the changes in the document and the changes in the manage window are related one-way. If you click on a change in the "Manage Changes" window, the document window correctly jumps to the related change in the document. However, if you click on a change in the document window nothing happens. There is no way to relationship from the document window to the related change in "Manage Changes". However, this is essential to productively work with the list of changes in the manage changes window. Expected behavior: If the user clicks on a change in the document, the "Manage Changes" window/sidebar should jump to the related change in the list and highlight it. System: Ubuntu 24.04, LibreOffice 24.02. Actual Results: Expected Results: Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 161715] New: Math Symbols and Insert Character are hard to use
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161715 Bug ID: 161715 Summary: Math Symbols and Insert Character are hard to use Product: LibreOffice Version: 24.2.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Formula Editor Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: bvanderme...@kbcat.com Description: The Symbols and Special character views are modal, meaning you need to close them if you want to insert another symbol elsewhere in your formula. When you reopen them, they do not remember the last symbol set selected. Steps to Reproduce: 1. You are in math editing a formula. You want to insert the symbols for PI. 2. You click Tools, Symbols. You switch to the Greek character set and find and insert PI. 3. You want to insert another symbol elsewhere in your formula, but you can't because the Symbols view is modal, you can't click on another spot in your formula while the Symbols view is open. 4. So you close the Symbols view, click where you want in your formula and go back to Symbols. But now it has defaulted back to Arabic again, so you have to select Greek again. Actual Results: The Symbols view needs to be close to select another insertion point in your formula and when you reopen it, it defaults back to Arabic instead of your last selection. Expected Results: 1. You are in math editing a formula. You want to insert PI. 2. You click Tools Symbols. You switch to the Greek character set and find and insert PI. 3. You want to insert another symbol elsewhere in your formula, so while the Symbols view is open you click on another point in your formula to set the insertion point. You insert the second Symbol. 4. You close the Symbols view. You open it again. 5. When it reopens it remembers that you had the Greek symbol set selected. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Same thing with the Special characters view. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
