[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101247] Add bulk-save/bulk-close options for documents
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101247 Heiko Tietze changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |WONTFIX --- Comment #6 from Heiko Tietze --- We discussed the topic in the design meeting. The batch operation is common for multi-document interface (MDI) but rather not suited for SDI. We do have "Save All", and "Close All" without asking to save changes would be a dangerous function that is not recommended. Such special workflows are better realized per macro. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101247] Add bulk-save/bulk-close options for documents
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101247 --- Comment #4 from jan d --- I can imagine situations where this is useful, but I think it is telling that Microsoft, in both the "old" and the ribbon UI, has not made it directly accessible. If it is an easy enhancement which does not add maintenance burden, offering as an optional command that users can add themselves might make sense (which is the same way as MS went in post-2007 MS Office). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Thanks! :-) > (In reply to Alain LIBIOUL from email) > I just propose a 1-click method to close (and record) all the documents > in the same time. Before opening a new one for example. So a 1-click method to: - Save & then close each open document - Keep LibreOffice running > I think that this solution already exist in a other program (Microsoft word) Indeed -- looks like one used to be able to hold down the SHIFT key while opening the File menu to get "Save all"/"Close all" options in Word, although there's a different mechanism since the Ribbon came to town (of course!): http://www.howtogeek.com/218995/how-to-save-and-close-all-open-documents-in-word/ Though I'm not sure a *1-click* mechanism makes the most sense here, it sounds like there's enough general interest to consider some bulk-processing options.
