It behaves the same way in Linux and macOS for me.
Not sure, if bug or feature, so adding needsDevAdvice keyword.

This does not seem to be a bug, but an old limitation:

"Caveat: The DDE link definition contains only the rows and columns you pasted
in. The object can't automatically expand to include additional rows or
columns, so if you add any in the original, you'll have to include those in a
new selection to paste as DDE."

Will need to interview developers about this.

Markus aka moggi said that we are moving away from DDE linking, so adding new
features on top of it is not desirable.

How about using inserted OLE objects? Any problems with them in your use case?

anymore. Meanwhile what is OLE Linking. I could not find a way to OLE Link a
spreadsheet into a Writer doc.
