Please read this message in its entirety before proceeding.

Your bug report is being closed as INSUFFICIENTDATA due to inactivity and
a lack of information which is needed in order to accurately
reproduce and confirm the problem. We encourage you to retest
your bug against the latest release. If the issue is still

Another test:
1. Open Writer and create a new file
2. write the following two lines:
001 fris
002 

3. If my cursor is on the 1st line, the language options are English (USA) and
... Norwegian! ("Norwegian, Nynorsk")
4. But if my cursor is on the 2nd line, I only see English (USA) as language
option!!

Xisco Faulí, I can't remember how that one was created. But in the example
below it is a new fresh simple ODT file.

Maybe Writer is trying to automatically detect the language based on the word?
but is that how it should work, even if I obviously don't have any Norwegian
dictionary add-in installed?

Depending on when the cursor is located at, you get different language options.
Cursor @ Line 2: English (UK) and English (USA).
Cursor @ Line 1: English (UK), English (USA) and Frisian.

Try with the following attachment. It's very weird:

1. open the test file
2. put the cursor on the SECOND LINE.
3. check the language options (both by clicking the bottom bar or in Tools ->
Options
4. I see two English options: English (UK) and English (USA)
5. Now put the cursor on the FIRST LINE.
6. Now I see three options! English (UK), English (USA) and... Frisian

Yes, it happens exactly the same after reseting the user profile.

I also noted that sometimes Writer "remembers" that there is a dictionary
installed just after I start typing in language other than the default (US
English)

In some other ocassions, Writer doesnt seem to show the installed dictionary as
option (neither in Tools->Language in the menu or in the "state bar" at the
bottom of the document). The dictionary appear as installed in the Extension
Manager at all times.

Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not
related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your
Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and
re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present
