I disagree.

Please check the mentioned use case once more.

Can other contributors convince you better for corresponding application needs?

We had this topic on the agenda of the weekly design meeting. Multi-selection
in the chart wizard lists makes no sense and removing entries is only necessary
if the selected range has not been chosen carefully. So closing this as WFM.

This is fine.

> But I'm not sure how this question is related to your request.

Why do you get understanding difficulties for the application of this technique
for the exclusion (or removal) of several fields (in the corresponding
configuration dialogue of the chart wizard)?

Absolutely yes. Dealing with multi-selection in lists is a very common
interaction. But I'm not sure how this question is related to your request.

There are plenty of options to sort/filter/select data. Please give an example
of your complexity.

As a note: You filed a lot of tickets around charts and pivot tables and we are
happy for every input. Even when some of your ideas get rejected, please don't
hesitate to continue. Thing is that we have to balance easy of use for novices
and extended functionality for experts, so some less frequently used or very
special enhancement requests drop out. And last but not least we have to
consider the limited development resources.

Please take another look at configuration challenges around long list of field
names.
Under which circumstances would you like to work with multiple selection of
list entries?

Why don't you just select those columns that you want to include in the chart?

The topic “Chart: Impossible to choose non-contiguous range when editing data
range with use of the Expand button” is related a bit.
But I imagine that it could become easier to support the deletion of selected
entries from the data series list directly.
