https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123966 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |NOTABUG Status|NEEDINFO|RESOLVED --- Comment #11 from V Stuart Foote --- Pretty much a RTFM issue regards handling anchoring within Writer documents. No possibility for a rational request for improvements when rudiments of the anchoring mechanism is not understood. This is current LibreOffice help entry: https://help.libreoffice.org/6.3/en-US/text/swriter/guide/anchor_object.html?DbPAR=WRITER#bm_id3147828 And here the menu locations have changed a little, but this OpenOffice 'tutorial' is still applicable: https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=86682 Beyond that, this is a Usage issue => NAB -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

It looks as if I was able to get my LO updated. I now have version 6.2.7.1 The problem I mention is still there in the text module, but I have since found and used the "draw" module which is excellent for mixed text and graphics. It does seem a pity that your standard word processor is not better at handling graphics, but there are limits to the things any given program does best! LibreOffice is definitely the very best option I have found! Print Shop, Print Master and Lotus WordPro have been unable to keep up with the shifting sands of Windows and I miss them very much, but you have been able to fill in all that they do and much better than MicroSoft Word ever did do things! I have marked this "Unconfirmed" as you asked. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123966 --- Comment #6 from Julien Nabet --- David: please only respond on bugtracker by using this link https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123966# LO is indeed a shortcut for "LibreOffice" About env, I wanted to know if you use Windows, MacOs or Linux. But since you indicate C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\CKHyAWsB.msi.part, I know now you use Windows. About downloading, do you use official website (https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/)? because C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\CKHyAWsB.msi.part means it began to download but it's not finished yet. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I just tried to download the 6.1.5 version and it wouldn't even start a download. I am using Firefox as my go-to browser. The dialog says: "C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\CKHyAWsB.msi.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read. Try again later, or contact the server administrator." This is a personal laptop computer - there is nobody here but me, so I guess I am the administrator and I say "download away!" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123966 --- Comment #4 from David Lea --- That's what I mean - it shouldn't! The graphics should follow the cursor, not some invisible anchor point and paragraph! Isn't there a better way to do this? We have a whole page of pictures - no text.
