I have opened in safe mode, and the problem remained, but what I have not found is that this version of libreoffice acts differently from what I am used to. In previous versions, once I made a change to either the width or height of an image with the "Keep ratio" box chosen, the other parameter would automatically change as I entered the new dimension. With this version, the other parameter only changes if I click or tab away from the dimension I am changing. This happens whether I am in safe mode or not.
