[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127108] print double-sided and in reverse order

Ok thank you. I find it strange that you get something other than me with MS O,
but it's nothing, I'll add a blank page for files with odd pages.
Thank you for your patience!

This is trivial issue, if bug at all.
You say you want double-sided print with reverse order. Both options are
working in LO and Print Preview is correct. If you don't like what you get, you
may simply add one more empty page at the end before printing.

I tried to print from MSO 2016 due to your comment 8 and MSO behaves similar to
LO.
To be clear, I went to File-Options-Advanced-Print and checked "Print in
reverse order2.
And it did print in reverse, but 3|2-1. It didn't add page.

Unless you have a use case why normal double-sided print is necessary in
reverse order (any what wouldn't you add a page), this can be closed as
NotABug.
If you want LO to think and guess what user wants, it's WontFix.

Can you please provide a sample document (e.g. odt and/or docx) so we can do
further testing?

Hello.
In addition to LibreOffice, I use MS Office 2010 and MS Office 2016 (on
different computers), and I have never encountered this problem, while I always
do it to print my work. Sometimes I have to print documents of more than 20
pages, and this problem never appeared with anything other than LibreOffice.

If the last page has to be white (when the number of pages of the document is
odd, for example 7 pages), MS Office prints a white side (for the last side)
and then prints the last page (page 7, in my example) on the same sheet of
paper. Like this, it is not the numbered page number 1 which is alone on a
sheet of paper, but the page numbered 7 which is alone on a sheet of paper (as
in a book).

Hello Simonon,
Is there any app that acts as you are saying? it seems LibreOffice and MSO have
the same behaviour which makes me think it might not be an issue...

I will try to make myself understood, again. I am not English speaking.

The print option in reverse order prints from the last page to the first page.
I agree. 3| + 2| + 1|

The double sided option prints page 1 on the front, page 2 on the back, page 3
on the front of the second sheet. 1|2 + 3|

If I combine the two options, the printer must print first page 3 on the front
of the first sheet, then page 2 on the back of another sheet, and finally, it
prints page 1 on the front of this second sheet. 3| + 2|1

Unfortunately, when I print a 3-page text by activating both options
(double-sided and reverse order), I get page 1 of the printed text alone on one
sheet, and pages 2 and 3 on another sheet, in double sided. 3|2 + 1|

It's not normal to have page 1 alone on a sheet in this case!

Is that clear? I can not be more understandable with Google translation ...

in my understanding printing in reverse order means:
start with the last page instead of page 1, e.g.:

When I print 3 faces of text, and choose to print on both sides of the paper,
page 2 must be behind page 1, and page 3 is alone on another page.
This is not what happens when I choose to print in reverse order: page 1 is
alone on a sheet and page 3 is behind page 2 ... it's not normal.

The libreoffice version is up to date on my computer running Windows 10

What do you expect should happen with option "reverse order" ?
