Dear Telesto,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

This kind of 'feature' shouldn't be hardcoded somewhere. It it will eat
'explicit' set formatting -red formatting - attachment 168998

Also not working consistently: replace the ! attachment 168998 by '.' and
select & cut the yellow text next.. now it works as I would expect it to work

I really dislike an Office Suite knowing what. Prefer to be in control :P

So if this somehow 'wanted' it should be done by auto-correct, IMHO

I used Linux's bibisect-43max. There is a range of about 550 commits where the
document wouldn't load until 'Revert "impl. enumeration for ZipPackage"', and
then a few more commits until the main text re-appeared (thanks to 'Support for
singleton constructor functions').

https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/?id=c0864f26f3143ea81c65d3826fae32a8fd54c531&qt=range&q=94227ec32e4736d4a85e4d82be195eaef5ce45f1..997d21183322a0a94b96868073808841d2773902

There are lots of commits dealing with string length, and comments...

P.S. I found the description a bit confusing - too much irrelevant information.
I focused on the fact that the leading space was selected as part of the
deletion, and the undo showed the leading space included in the selection.

I almost wouldn't call this a bug, since in most cases, connecting the fullstop
to the end of the previous word would be the general user intention.

@Buovjaga
If you're in the mood of doing a 'skippy' hard bibisect.. I got made few
mistake while bibisect.. and got bored.. and LibO kept continue crashing or not
opening at all (with gen backend). So not sure if even possible to get
something useful

Could have copy/pasted the demo also if opening failed.. Anyhow did try really
hard

I might look into it someday
