Changing that may break many things. I am not sure to understand your use-case. Do you change the keyboard layout when you change the language? If so you have the same problem with many characters. Depends of language that I type, period symbol is change it position on keyboard. So, I mistype very often. For me, just simple tap 2 times to separate sentences. For example, on iphone and mac os I have this option (replace two space into dot+space) and it's very handy. It would be nice if you adding this option.
