Thanks for testing. Skia is a graphics engine that is also used by web browsers
like Chrome and Firefox. From the user's standpoint, it can improve the
performance of the interface.

Skia was added to LibreOffice in 2019 and the integration is still getting
polished. You might check the latest unstable version with Skia activated and
see, if it is any better:
https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html
Win-x86_64@tb77-TDF. The version installs separately from your stable one.

I have tried that now (deactivate Skia) and wrote a few paragraphs of text.
Yes, it does help and I didn't realize that it was there - I poke around in the
settings for other things. It seems to me that this is the cause of the
problem, although why, I couldn't say. I am not familiar with Skia's purpose
and would hesitate to comment further, other than to confirm that it helps to
deactivate this. Thank you.

Does it make a difference, if you deactivate Tools - Options - LibreOffice -
View - Use Skia for all rendering ?

Hello Joseph,

Thank you for reporting the bug, but I can't reproduce this.

Unfortunately without clear steps to reproduce it, we cannot track down the
origin of the problem.
Please provide a clearer set of step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce
the problem.
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' once the steps are provided
