The drop-down list 'Palette' has an item 'Theme colors'. When you hover a color in that palette, then you get a small yellow tooltip explaining the color. And in that tooltip for the first four columns the words 'Text' and 'Background' are exchanged. When you use the sidebar you need to use the set 'Theme colors' in the drop-down of the fill color. The tooltips are the same as in the dialog.
