Bug ID: 153371 Summary: Spelling tool causes crash and ANR message on windows 11 and high CPU usage Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.5.0.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: todo.ciencia.y.electron...@gmail.com Description: Like the title, trying to use the spelling tool in Spanish (Mexico) after about the 3rd substitution or sometimes after pressing "Correct All" causes the application to crash abruptly raising CPU usage while throwing ANR message in windows 11. - Force close via task manager is required Steps to Reproduce: 1. [with the interface in US English] try to write a document in Spanish,Make a document with spelling mistakes, preferably repetitive errors on several pages 2.start the spelling tool [window] -the automatic correction and highlighting of errors on the text seems to work well 3.Make word substitutions as necessary, After the third substitution or if you perform a "Change All" on a repeating error will cause LOF to stop responding, immediately after Your PC fans will start spinning at high speed [In Windows taskManager , you can verify a High CPU usage during the hang, This does not give up if you leave time] it is required to force the closing through taskmgr or ANR Windows report -Recover document and repeat. Actual Results: Attempted to Restart PC, Start LibreOffice in Safe Mode, Reset Profile, Reinstall via MSI. The problem is not solved and is repeated every time it is tried -In turn, Similar to Bug 153360, the spelling tool seems to have problems identifying the language and in some paragraphs it simply gets stuck saying that there is no language assigned to the paragraph and therefore there are no suggestions. requiring manual changes or skipping paragraphs for revision to continue Expected Results: The spelling tool shouldn't cause program hangups and shouldn't have any detection issues even though the document language is default. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Libreoffice is using the "automatic integration" theme. so it works in "default" dark mode. I don't know if the auto dark theme can cause the problem [I can't disable it without having to change all the theme colors manually] and disable windows 11 dark mode -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
