Are people still using those?!? So I created a bmp because I couldn't find one. Open LO draw Insert bmp file. right click on image in draw save picture as, dialogue opens. enter name, save, works fine. WORKSFORME. Further experiments make me think that the issue may be with the file format, here. Something like saving in a format that LO does not know how to convert the image to crashes LO. For instance, in a set of experiments, I have been consistently always successful in saving files if I provide a filename with the ppm extension (which should be one of the most basic bitmap formats).
