[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56317] Spell checker queries again for added words that occur more than once in dialog view
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56317 --- Comment #2 from Brenda Granados bgra...@gmail.com --- I see what you mean when using the Spelling and Grammar window. Here is what I did, using LibreOffice 4.0 on Ubuntu: 1. Type a sentence using two same fictitious words in a row. 2. Right click on one of the fictitious words. 3. In dialog, click add on the first word. Result: the second word still shows red in window, as if it were an error. However, after closing the window, the second word no longer has a red squiggly line. I'm guessing that in the open dialog window, the word is not updated, but after you close the dialog, it is. If that is not the result of your test, and even after the dialog is closed the word is still treated as an error, please let me know. I think the priority of this bug should be considered as Minor, Medium. The reason is that this does not prevent a user from making high quality work. The word is added to the spell check dictionary. The UI dialog is misleading, but the change is confirmed. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56317] Spell checker queries again for added words that occur more than once in dialog view
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56317 --- Comment #3 from Reuben Thomas r...@sc3d.org --- I agree with the diagnosis in comment #2 that the problem appears to be the result of the preview pane's not being updated when the word is accepted. I do not agree that this makes the bug of minor importance: it confused me and wasted time before I worked out what was going on, because it made it appear that I had not in fact added certain words to my personal dictionary, so therefore I assumed I had made an error (added the wrong word? taken some other action than adding the word to my dictionary?) and wasted time trying to work out what I had done wrong before finally discovering the bug. Equally, it is not a serious bug; hence, I am happy with the current rating. In any case, if the diagnosis is correct, the bug should be easy to fix: simply update the preview pane whenever an action is taken in the spell checking dialog which could affect the preview pane. That might be a better use of time than fine-tuning the priority! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56317 Reuben Thomas r...@sc3d.org changed: What|Removed |Added Hardware|Other |x86-64 (AMD64) OS|All |Linux (All) --- Comment #1 from Reuben Thomas r...@sc3d.org --- This bug is easiest to describe as a recipe to reproduce it. Try spell-checking a document like this: foo foo where foo is a word not in your spelling dictionary. Both occurrences of foo are underlined, as you would expect, before spell-checking starts. The spell checker prompts with the first occurrence of foo highlighted, as you would expect. In the dialog, click Add. Now the second occurrence of foo is presented, which is wrong: it has been added to the dictionary. A clue to the bug is that if instead you spell-check a document that looks like this: foo ...lots of text... foo then it works as expected. In other words, the bug only occurs when the word added to the dictionary appears more than once in the spell-checker dialog's mini window on to the document. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
