[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60530] Allow user to disable spellchecker and grammar in current document only (not global settings)

I would like this too. I would like to have specific dictionaries attached to a
particular document. Useful for novelist who want to use dialect words in one
story but not in another.

No that's whole point: I need to turn it off only in specific documents.
I think this problem would be fairly common, and so this facility should be
provided.

It's global. I too turn it off. You probably wouldn't miss it.

Yes, but is it specific to each document, where each document remembers its own
setting?

I do not want to turn the feature on/off for each document.

Auto-caps is a different animal. See "Capitalize first letter of every
sentence" under Tools - AutoCorrect Options - Options tab

Just to explain the actual issue, typical Asian languages have more consonants
than English, so we have to represent some of these letters by using the
capital and small English letters.

This makes the transliterated text case-sensitive.

For example, my name would be typically written as "narayaN", where the last N
is retroflex. Conversely, "NarayaN" is not the same as "narayaN".

I tried the none option for both "paragraph" and then for "all text".

Only the squiggly red line stopped appearing under the foreign words.
But the auto-capitalization continues (which I do not want).

Thanks for your effort, though!

If you set the language of the paragraph style as [None] (instead of English
while you use the English spellchecker), the spellchecker will ignore the
words.

Now I wonder if I understood you correctly. Your problem may be solved by just
making some changes at Tools > AutoCorrect Options.

If this works for you, please mark the status as RESOLVED.
