oh, I see, I didn't see your patch.
However, patches aren't review in Bugzilla but in Gerrit instead. That's the
reason no one took a look at your patch.
Could you please submit it to gerrit as described here:

I've uploaded working patch years ago (attachment few comments above). The
patch fixes this issue. I don't know development processes on LibreOffice
project, someone should do code review and apply the patch. Nobody did it. So
it's turn on LibreOffice team to apply the patch to source code (if it's
possible after those years of development).

Hi,

Thanks for reporting!
I can confirm the current behavior, and agree with the fact show the formula
is better.

Therefore I mark this as NEW. Nevertheless, this is as far I can see not a bug,
but is created that way. Therefore I mark this as an enhancement.
