Copy image in Firefox. Step 2. Paste into Writer. Step 3. After observing sluggish save/load and breakages, discover that I need to go to Edit- Links and choose Break link. Here's what I think should happen: (a) On pasting an image, at the very least, the status-bar should warn that this is pasted as a link, rather than an embed. (b) Right-clicking the image, then choosing Picture - Picture gives a Link entry. This is where the Edit-Links-Break link function needs to be. It should also be clearer: use the option to embed the image rather than break a link. (c) When I break the link, to embed the image in the document. it doesn't mean I necessarily want to forget where the picture originally came from.
