Hello,
The description of Ljiljan is not correct.
If you copy a drawing using the mouse and the CTRL key, the drawing is copied,
but not visible.
If you select the "print preview", the drawing becomes visible.
I use this fonctionality, despite this display bug, for over two years, with
many different versions of Libreoffice, under windows XP and under Linux
Ubuntu, also many versions.
Despite the display bug, it works well.

Thank you for this developpement, Bernard Gisin.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66878] EDITING: not possible to copy drawings in Writer while moving and holding CTRL

CTRL+C / CTRL+V works in Writer only in following case:

1. You select object
2. press CTRL + C
3. click on document (object is no longer selected)
4. Press CTRL + V
5. It's copied

In case shape / object is selected, copying will not work.

However, it is not possible to copy drawings in Writer while moving and holding
CTRL.

The problem is annoying and occurs differently from application to application.

==

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open new Writer document.
2. Create drawing object of any kind.
3. Try to copy it by holding down the Ctrl-key and moving it with the mouse.
4. Try the same by holding down Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V
5. Try the same with picutures.
6. Do the same in other LO-applications.

==

I. Behaviour:

Version: 4.2.3.3
Build-ID: 882f8a0a489bc99a9e60c7905a60226254cb6ff0
Windows 7 Home 64bit, Intel onBoard HD Graphics 4000

- Writer:
 with Ctrl+Mouse:
   1. New document: copies only 1st drawing/shape, works well with images
Dokument: not at first with drawings/shapes, then suddenly they appeare
all after inserting image, works well with images
   2. with Ctrl-C/-V:
doesn't work at all, neither with drawings/shapes, nor with images

- Calc:
  perfect

- Draw:
  quite good, still not perfect
with ctrl-button presed only able to copy actual selection (@ drawings AND
pictures)
  ctrl-c/-v works perfectly

- Impress:
  see Draw

Version: 3.5.7.2
Build-ID: 350m1 (Build:2)
Ubuntu Linux 12.04 LTS 64bit, Intel onBoard HD Graphics 4000

- Writer:
  with Ctrl+mouse:
doesn't work right away, then after having inserted an image, works well
with images
  with Ctrl-C/-V:
doesn't work at all, neither with drawings/shapes, nor with pictures

-Calc:
  with Ctrl+mouse:
   perfect
  mit Strg-C/-V:
doesn't work at all, neither with drawings/shapes, nor with pictures

- Draw:
  quite good, still not perfect
with ctrl-button presed only able to copy actual selection (@ drawings AND
pictures)

Should work smoothlessly.

Hi Ljiljan,

Thanks for reporting this!

I see the problem in 4.1.0rc2 too:

In my situation, I see the mouse cursor changes and gets a +,
but there is no drawing copied.

It does work with a picture however.
Is that the same for you?

Do you have any idea if it worked correct in a previous version?

Regards,
Cor
