I have the same issue. It's on a Toshiba A665-s6057 running Ubuntu Linix
12.04.2 LTS running direct from the CD.

Writer 3.5.4.2

The document is saved in Word 97 format.

So, I pick a spot in the document. Usually the line has tabs in the beginning
of the line.

I just start typing and SUDDENLY, the cursur has moved up a few lines and it's
typing there all of a sudden.

I'm usually looking at the keys and not the screen when it jumps.

It happens a lot.

Possible relevent info:

Document stored in Word 97 format.
Toshiba

Note:

This time I know that trackpad tapping was enabled. It might be more
susceptable then. Not sure.

I would suggets that the OP do the same. Disable trackpad tapping.

Normally, I set trackpad tapping to disabled as part of a manually run script.
Trackpad tapping was enabled when I filed the bug.

OK, Could you please try to disable the touchpad on your laptop, and see if it
solves your problem. On most laptops it can be achieved by pressing Fn + Some F
key (F6 on my Lenovo laptop). Waiting for your report.

Also in the future please don't respond to the mail, just use the web interface
instead. It's located at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69193.
thanks.

Good afternoon.
After creating a document in LibreOffice, as I am typing, my cursor moves to
another part of the page and inserts what I am typing there.
I am a very poor typist (I look at the keys), so when I look up, sometimes I
find I have typed a few words (or a few sentences) in a previous paragraph.
Then I must either delete and retype or copy and paste in the correct spot.
Thank you.
