I think the buttons above the image for sharing and liking causes the problem in general. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69595 --- Comment #4 from Tomaz Vajngerl --- When I copy/paste with IE, then it copies only as text into Writer and not as HTML, which I think is the cause why it works fast and with no other problems with IE. When I use Chrome / Firefox to copy the page, Writer tries to parse the HTML into the document structure and this takes some time - however I have no problems with images. It may be that downloading of images timed out - or there was a connection problem in your case.
