Priority: medium Bug ID: 74224 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: FILESAVE: Crash with DATA LOSS, likely autosave hang Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: michaeljtbro...@gmail.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.1.4.2 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Problem description: While typing a lengthy document which was derived from a Google Docs document, Writer just froze then exited. 500 words had been lost when I opened up LibreOffice and tried to recover the document. I suspect this is an autosave issue where autosave is failing and just bombing out with a crash. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a Google Document which consists of a table of text with 11pt Calibri as the body. 2. Export the Google Doc as .odt and save it locally. 3. Open up the downloaded .odt in Writer, type a few lines in the table of text. 4. Select the table of text (Ctrl+A) and change its style to Arial 10pt. 5. Carry on typing several paragraphs. 6. At some point, Writer will freeze and bomb out. On recovery you'll realise that you are missing the text you entered. 7. Data loss is bad. Really bad. Current behavior: Writer crashes unexpectedly, no new text entered since document was last opened is saved. This is a DATA LOSS bug. Expected behavior: Writer autosaves without crashing. Writer is able to recover the most recently entered text. Operating System: Ubuntu Version: 4.1.4.2 release -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
