Steps to reproduce:
1) Options > Print - Set 'Printer' to 'Print to file'
2) Select OK
3) Exit program and restart
Now the setting is set back to 'Printer'.
Seems to affect all versions, tested back to GO-OO 3.2.0
Tried to find the setting in the changed pref files, but i couldn't find any.
