Why Paste Unformatted Text as default - end user selection option.

To Cor Nouws, Julian Nabet, raal, and anyone who cares to consider why I
am asking for this Paste Unformatted Text as default option:

1) I am using 4.4.3.2. It does not seem to have the right-click pull down
option of Paste Special / Unformatted Text - wish it did. (What am I
missing on this?)

2) You all are missing the point. My business (and hundreds of others I
bet) would like to use Writer forms (or template documents) into which
they could paste data from various sources without altering the text
formatting they already set up in their forms. When you paste formatted
text into a Writer document it brings along the text formatting, of
course, changing the formatting in the form! see?

Although there are two ways see to paste unformatted text, those ways are
cumbersome compared to allowing the end user to simply select a default
pasting type as Formatted text or Unformatted text and get on with their
work. It slows us down too much to have to do something additional every
time we simply want to paste data into our Receipt Form - so we will not
use Writer (but wish we could). Here we primarily paste data into our
business forms - which we designed...

3) This is a simple but important option that needs to be offered as a
user selectable option. When mainly writing reports or letters it seems
like a person would select Paste Formatted Text. But if you are filling in
forms with data copied from PayPal etc, you would want to paste
Unformatted Text.

Surely I have explained all this thoroughly enough for you guys to get the
picture pretty well by now. (See how they do it in WPS Office - a VERY
slick competing Hong Kong bases Office suite, you know?)

Cor, it WOULD be SO useful to have a tool bar button which would allow one
to toggle Paste Formatted/Unformatted Text. A very nice suggestion of
yours!
(The guys over at Open Office SHOULD follow your lead on this...) Sorry
about writing in upper case, earlier - was just trying to get your
attention = seemed frustrated like you guys were missing the importance of
this - at least as far as business uses went.

Thank you for your consideration and attention about this important
feature (not really a bug). (There are some other bugs though).

Sincerely, Arn Roatcap CEO Goldpoint Level Controls, Sunnyvale,

Hi Arn,

Writing in UPPERCASE is considered as shouting and seen as very impolite. Can
you please stop doing that?

thanks,

I think that the change of the summary now best reflects your idea.
Cheers,
Cor
