GUI is still extremely slow. I'm on an AMD Athlon 5350, using the IGP, fglrx 15.9, kernel 4.5.1, siduction with KDE/Plasma 5.4. Tried with/without HW acceleration, OpenGL Rendering, Java, Antialiasing. The resizing has become VERY slow. Up to 15 seconds for a large adjustment! During this time the screen goes gray, which I assume is a sign of too much work being asked of the processor? Same for all the LibO applications I use – Writer, Calc & Draw. This never happened with any previous LibO or OOo or any other application. All other applications still allow instant window resizing as usual. Switching between maximized & unmaximized windows is OK. Not all patches can be backported (there are a variety of reasons why). By the time we tracked down what patch fixed the issue, then tested it against 5.0.x, 5.0.x would likely already be EOL. (it's, as far as I know, it's distribution dependent if you have such a feature or not.
