No reply in 1,5 months so we must assume this is no longer a problem for
anyone.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Hi all,
recently I knew that Ubuntu mainainers built LibreOffice with GTK3 for Ubuntu
16.10. It doesn't have these bugs with menu and tooltips
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=128499
But there is only GTK2 in official LibreOffice PPA that has these bugs.
Does somebody know will LibreOffice go to GTK3 in next releases like 5.3?

Thanks for the explanations, Aron.
My friend with 1024x600 notebook has the same problems
(https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126818).
They are really serious, but all we can do is to hope that developers have
their attention of them, and it saddens.

Thanks for the extensive checks, it's interesting to see that changing icon
style also temporarily fixes the placement (in Comment 8 it was noted that
changing scaling does this).

I didn't know automatic themes depended on resolution, it seems intended, but I
don't know anything about it.

Note that resolutions below 1024x768 would not be supported normally, and while
I made arguments in Comment 9 why this should definitely count as an issue to
be fixed, it was good to see that the bug also occurred with 1366x768
resolution in your case.

I've found something. The menu fixes after changing icon style (it's not
important, to Elementary or to Galaxy). It looks so
(https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126734).
But after restarting LibreOffice the menu flattenes again :-(
(https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126735).
It doesn't affects the tooltips, they're cut in both situations.

Thanks Aron.
By the way, this bug can be reproduced in Virtualbox with 640x480 settings
(https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126732).
And I saw that LibreOffice chooses the default icon style dependently from
screen resolution
(https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126733). Is this a bug
or not?

Those are different themes (Tango and Galaxy), you can verify/change via Tools

In bug 101416 this was reported with 1366x768 resolution, so it seems to be
affecting higher resolutions as well, under certain circumstances.
