Like my grandma ;) she would click the icon in the Lauchpad (LO not preloaded on RAM). A splash screen would prevent her from trying to launch LO again and again until the first window appears. I never bothered to file a bug since in the days of SSD harddrives (and apple does not sell any machine without such a drive) the loading times are so small that showing a splash adds more distraction and irritation than it does anything useful to the user.
