It's specifically stated that: "Anything you write with the pen is not saved when you exit the slide show. Observe how drawing is kept after the slide show, and after saving/reloading. (help specifically states: "Anything you write with the pen is not saved when you exit the slide show. The color of the pen cannot be changed.")
