Use the Navigator for quick scrolling to an object. CASE A: text frames - double-click on a text frame name View scrolls to the target frame, cursor is positioned at head of first paragraph in the frame. Typing there is just as usual. Frame outline does not show the dimensioning handles (once again as expected because focus is on text entry). - double-click on another text frame Same behaviour, OK. CASE B: images/Drawing objects - double-click on a name View scrolls to the target. Frame outline is selected and shows the handles. Typing on the keyboard has no effect. This is as expected, no matter where you come from. Arrow keys move the frame, as expected. - double-click on another name Same behaviour, OK CASE C: mixed case, image then text frame - double-click first on an image/drawing object name Expected behaviour, see above. - double-click on a text frame name View scrolls to the target, but BOTH the frame is selected and the blinking cursor is positioned at head of first paragraph. If you start typing, the cursor jumps to last position of last paragraph and characters are added there. If, instead of typing "characters", you try to navigate with the arrow keys, this will change the position of the frame though I could not see exactly how (the frame itself remained at its position but the paragraph mark it was anchored to moved but aside the frame without exceeding the vertical limits). This seems to be a "mid-way" behaviour with part of image control, part of text control. In text, we don't expect the entry location to suddenly jump without user intervention (unless cursor positioning is wrong from the start. Where is it supposed to go when a frame is double-clicked in the navigator?) Anyway, this is not consistent. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132082] Users can't edit in the Japanese display environment
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132082 --- Comment #5 from Babbles --- I was updated to 6.2.12 and loolwsd 4.6.3. I updated and the problem didn't improve. 1. The user creates and opens a new spreadsheet document. 2. In addition, the user must set English input (1 byte characters) mode in advance. 3. Open a new spreadsheet file and edit it. In this case, there seems to be no problem even in the Japanese display environment. However, if the user then activates the Japanese character (CJK / 2 byte character) input mode and tries to input characters or clicks the mouse, the problem occurs. If an existing file is opened for editing, the same error will occur if the user opens the file in English input mode. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73242] FORMATTING: Enhancement: Expand usage of local settings (regional settings) in Options/Languages
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73242 --- Comment #8 from jsd.libreoff...@bvac.co.za --- (In reply to Buovjaga from comment #7) > *** Bug 123878 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I'd like to point out, since it isn't mentioned so far in this thread, that my reason for logging bug 123878 originally was because of how LO is parsing numeric literals. Brace yourself, this gets confusing... My complaint is that for me, numbers with decimal places, LO does not interpret a period as the decimal point; it expects a comma instead. So for example, the string "123.4" (with a period) gets treated as zero when used in a formula. However, the string "123,4" gets treated correctly (i.e. as a tenth of 1234) Now on the one hand, this is arguably correct, given that my OS locale is South Africa, where the _standard_ decimal separator is indeed a comma. However in the OS settings I have _changed_ the decimal separator to a period, and LO isn't picking that up. Yet in the LO preferences, the locale _there_ is English (UK), where I'm pretty sure the decimal separator is a period. So it's not clear to me where LO's idea of the comma as decimal separator is coming from. But regardless of that, IMHO LO should actually *ignore* the regional settings when parsing numeric literals. My reasoning is: (1) it makes numeric literals in macros and formulae locale-independent (2) it's consistent with OpenOffice and MS Office behaviour (3) it plays nice with Calc, because cell values are extracted with decimal _periods_ even with my locale settings. FWIW, I logged that bug after migrating from OO to LO. I have a Writer template with calculations that failed in LO because it contained numbers with decimal periods (not commas). Changing the periods to commas fixed the calculations. That template also has a macro that extracts a cell value from a spreadsheet and uses it in a formula. The formula failed for the same reason: the extracted value (which was truly a number, not s string) is converted implicitly by LO to a string, with a decimal _period_. Calculations with that value fail unless the period is replaced with a comma. OK finally, FYI: there's an attachment to bug 123878 with a minimal demo of the calculation problem in a Writer template. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132657] UI: Compress Image, reducing image resolution actually increases resolution
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132657 --- Comment #9 from Telesto --- Quote from Justin L bug 131116 "Image compression appears to be more accurately a "resize" rather than a compression. The default compression value is 300dpi (in LO 7.0), and for an image with a smaller DPI already, it will expand the image to 300dpi, increasing the filesize for no apparent benefit. I can't really think of a reason why anyone would want to force a reverse compression, so probably it should just do nothing in this case. This will especially be important when there will be option to compress all images in the document. When used interactively, it could be argued that the user has all the information they need to determine whether or not to compress. True enough for a knowledgable user, but there can probably be some improvements here. One possibility would be to set the default to min(currentViewsizeDPI, 300) [an interesting easyhack?]. The other option would be to add a (by default enabled) checkbox to only compress." -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112543 --- Comment #7 from Harald Koester --- Checked in Writer with version 6.4.3 (Win 10). I checked the behaviour with hyperlinks in Text Boxes, Shapes (in my case a rectangle) and Frames. I observed the following: (a) If the cursor is in normal text, then the hyperlink entries are not displayed in the context menu for hyperlinks in Text Boxes and Shapes, whereas these entries are displayed for hyperlinks in Frames. I would also expect the display of the entries for hyperlinks in Text Boxes and Shapes. (b) If the cursor is in a Text Box, then if you move the mouse pointer above the hyperlinks in Shapes and Frames and also in normal text, the tip "Ctrl-click to open hyperlink ..." is displayed, but Ctrl-click does not work.
