[Libreoffice-qa] [ANN] LibreOffice 4.1.2 RC1 test builds available

2013-09-04 Thread Christian Lohmaier
Hi *,

for the upcoming new version 4.1.2, the RC1 most of the builds are now
available on pre-releases (Windows build is currently being uploaded)
There is another RC planned for this release, see the schedule here:

 http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan#4.1_release

Grab the builds from here here:

 http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/

If you've a bit of time, please give them a try & report *critical*
bugs not yet in bugzilla here, so we can incorporate them into the
release notes. Please note that it takes approximately 24 hours to
populate the mirrors, so that's about the time we have to collect
feedback.

NOTE: This build is in a release configuration and _will_ replace your
existing LibreOffice install on Windows.

The list of fixed bugs relative to 4.1.1RC2 (i.e. 4.1.1 final) is here:

http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/src/bugs-libreoffice-4-1-2-release-4.1.2.1.log

So playing with the areas touched there also greatly appreciated -
and validation that those bugs are really fixed.

For Windows, explicit testing of
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68756 which was a problem
introduced by the build-environment is also welcome.

Thanks a lot for your help,
Christian

PS: Sent this announcement also to the QA list, as there still seems
to be some confusion regarding the announcements. Please feel free to
tell your desired way to get informed (reply either via PM or to the
qa-list please)

[Libreoffice-qa] advice on documentation/help bugs

2013-09-04 Thread Sophie
Hi all,

I'm going to provide some text for bugs under the documentation category
concerning the help files, like this one:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60711&list_id=340382
But to whom should I assign the bug once done. I'm not able to provide a
patch, may be I should learn, but in the meantime, if it stays with me
it won't help :)
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Sophie

just to mention it again the RPMs can be installed on any Linux system,
on Ubuntu it is just "apt-get install rpm" and then you can use the
script attached here[1] to install the lot in an arbitrary directory
that has its own UserInstallation profile (without impacting any distro
LO packages you may have). oh actually i just downloaded the RPMs from
there and the install script is even conveniently bundled right in there
as ./LibreOfficeDev_4.2.0.0.alpha0_Linux_x86-64_rpm/install.

PS: does anybody know if there is some official QA wiki page to which
the above can be added, or did somebody add it already? i feel like a
broken record :)

PPS: Fedora 19 is currently affected by a bug in rpm that prevents using
this script so ironically it may even work better on .deb based distros :-/

Hi Howard,

We are very happy, that you are going to help us doing QA.
So here some points from my side (if I am wrong, anyone please correct):
- -We do not have a deb master, rpm master can be found online:
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Linux-x86-64@8-SLED11/current/
- -Here a list of old unconfirmed bugs:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/buglist.cgi?bug_status=UNCONFIRMED&limit=100&product=LibreOffice&order=changeddate%2Cbug_id%20DESC
As you can see the output is limited to 100 bugs...

We do have a biweekly QA call, next in 2 days

If you do ahve any questions, please do not hesitate and ask :)
