In late May we had a flurry of bugs which sounded like this.
tdf#01488 "[META] RenderContext related issues" collects a lot of
them.

However, I thought they were mostly fixed by the time of beta2. Just
now in Impress in beta2, I see a fully-painted context menu in each of
the three big panes.

I hate to suggest that you are confused about what version you are
running, but well, right now I am talking about ...

Version: 5.0.0.0.beta2
Build ID: 059fa2b7a3bda92168c65c61e50cc5c6fda8cfac

My environment is debian-wheezy with gnome in a fallback mode. So,
that difference might be the second thing I would look at.

BTW, you know that beta3 is available now, don't you?

[Libreoffice-qa] Issues with Display of Dialogs of 5.0-beta2

2015-06-11 Thread Andreas Mantke
Hello,

I installed LibreOffice 5.0-beta2-x64 on my openSuSE 13.2 with KDE
4.14.8 and got issues with the display of some dialogs. E.g. if I open a
new presentation in Impress and call in the context menu 'Text' the
dialog gets only a small part with a grey background. The biggest part
of the dialog gets a transparent background.

But there are many of such dialogs in 5.0, that behave that way. It's an
regression to 4.4 etc.

I tried with the own dialogs of LibreOffice but that doesn't change
anything.

Is this only a KDE thing or is this behavior shown on other desktop
environments too?

Regards,
Andreas

[Libreoffice-qa] [ANN] LibreOffice 4.4.4 rc2 test builds available

2015-06-11 Thread Christian Lohmaier
Hi *,

for the upcoming new version 4.4.4 the builds for RC2 are now
available on pre-releases.

It is a build in release-configuration, meaning that it will update a
previous version of LibreOffice on Windows.
Linux and Mac users can install alongside LibreOffice 4.3

See

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/4.4#4.4.4_release

for the complete schedule.

Grab the builds from here here:

 http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/

The list of fixed bugs relative to 4.4.4 rc1 is here:

http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/src/bugs-libreoffice-4-4-4-release-4.4.4.2.log

So playing with the areas touched there also greatly appreciated -
and validation that those bugs are really fixed.

Thanks a lot for your help,
Christian

[Libreoffice-qa] [ANN] LIbreOffice 5.0.0 Beta3 available

2015-06-11 Thread Christian Lohmaier
Dear Community,

The Document Foundation is pleased to announce the third (the second
wasn't officially released) Beta release of LibreOffice 5.0.0. The
upcoming 5.0.0 will be the tenth major release of LibreOffice, coming
with a bunch of new features beside the usual bugfixes.

The Beta3 can be installed alongside the stable version, so feel free
to give it a try. Beta3 is not ready for production yet, and while
in feature freeze, final UI and string freeze is yet to come, and
translations are not complete.

A work-in-progress list of new features in LibreOffice 5.0 can be
found at https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/5.0

The release is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X from our QA
builds download page at

  http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases

There is also a 64bit version available for Windows (please note that
the 64bit version requires Windows Vista or newer, while the 32bit
version runs on Windows XP or later)

Should you find bugs, please report them to our Bugzilla at

  https://bugs.documentfoundation.org

A good way to assess the release candidate quality is to run some
specific manual tests on it, our TCM wiki page has more details:

http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Testing/Regression_Tests#Full_Regression_Test

Feel free to join other QA volunteers in the upcoming BugHunting
session - details at
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugHunting_Session_5.0.0_RC1

For other ways to get involved with this exciting project - you can
e.g. contribute code:

  http://www.libreoffice.org/community/developers/

translate LibreOffice to your language:

  http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/LibreOffice_Localization_Guide

or help with funding our operations:

  http://donate.libreoffice.org/

A list of known issues and fixed bugs with 5.0.0 Beta3 is available
from our wiki:

  http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Releases/5.0.0/Beta3

Let us close again with a BIG Thank You! to all of you having
contributed to the LibreOffice project - this release would not have
been possible without your help.

On behalf of the Community,

Christian

[Libreoffice-qa] Win 64 bit builds are available! Windows 10 tests especially appreciated!

2015-06-11 Thread Robinson Tryon
Hi all,

A big thanks to cloph for providing our latest Win 64bit native
builds. With the release of Windows 10 coming up very soon, we'd like
to get as much testing done as possible with our 5.0 pre-release
beta and (soon) RC builds.

Please find the 5.0.0 Beta 3 builds on our dev-builds server:
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/win/x86_64/?C=N;O=D

Remember: The devs have requested that we test the addressbook
integration bits, as those have been changed on Win 10 (Thunderbird ->
mork)

Thanks,

Thank you, Michael. That is just the ticket.

The debian-sid repository offers that. I installed it, and the
2015-06-11 version runs Calc just fine.

For the randomness of the reference, I shall just wait until a problem
shows iteself.

Calc doesn't run because the bundled liborcus picks up a random boost
library from the build OS and it's not bundled.

...so it might have been

"Fix Mac OS X install names of external liborcus."

Though it would be interesting to learn whether the problem still
persists on FreeBSD. (A similar problem with liborcus---against which
the sc library links---has been fixed for Linux with

"external/liborcus: Fix Linux RPATH," but that was more of a cosmetic
nature and shouldn't have caused loading of the sc library to fail.)
