Bother ! :-)

I can see exactly the same problem in version 3.6.0alpha0+ (Build ID:

 Should I REOPEN the bug?

I think we'll be alright. I'll commit an assert in case this code is
build on Windows / Mac to master in a bit ... ;-)

Thanks for re-reporting though !

Michael.

 Bother ! :-)

The problem is that we disabled it in the release build configuration
file. If the tinderbox is buidling without using the configuration
file, the defaults apply and it seems that cairo canvas is part of the
defaults. We should just disable that for windows I guess.

Hi Petr, all

I'm glad to announce that the version number in the binary files now matches
the About dialog information under Windows!!!

This has been committed both to the 3.5 and 3.6 branch so it will be
available in the next RC (and Beta).

I have confirmed this with a daily build from the 3.5 branch
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/Win-x86@15-Prague_Win32/libreoffice-3-5/2012-04-10_06.59.39/

Thank you!

I agree that it looks bad.

As I mentioned in a previous email, it was NOT the same in 3.4.x: e.g.
 3.4.6 was named named 3.4.602
It wasn't correct but it was visibly similar (the number after the second
point is the same) and the numbers were increasing on the correct group
 (third group)

Hmm, where do you see the version 3.5.0 and 3.4.602? I can't find it
anywhere. I checked name of the installer, about dialog and output from
libreoffice --version. So, I am confused.

Petr Mladek wrote
It looks trivial but it is not. We would need to do clean build for all
systems, upload them to mirrors, restart smoketests, ... So, this change
would delay the release by many days.

Also, it is potentially dangerous. The version is defined and used on
many locations. Any change could cause strange side effects. Also there
are many scripts around that depends on a certain version scheme. So, we
should not change this between rc2 and rc3 if there is not a big reason.

As I mentioned before since version 3.5.0 was wrongly named 3.5.0rc3 and
3.5.1 named 3.5.0.102 it would be great to get a correct 3.5.x release...

Hopefully, it will be correct for 3.5.3 ;)

Pedro

:-) lets not conclude that. The purpose of the RC's is to find horrible
bugs that havn't been noticed yet.

This is a regression against 3.5.0 introduced in version 3.5.1

It's a shame that (somehow) the priority of this was not set
sufficiently high that anybody noticed when looking through the most

'major'.

Hi all,

Did anyone verify that the version info is updated (re the secunia
 reports problem)

I think Secunia has already fixed the numbering so that the warning it gone
for version 3.5.1.

But the Version number in the file Properties for 3.5.2rc2 is now 3.5.0.202
instead of 3.5.2.2

Unless there is an rc3 and this is fixed meanwhile LO is going to get a bad
image with Secunia (and all the security minded people :) )

Personally I couldn't care less about Secunia but since it only takes a
small number change, I think it would be worth the effort :)
