[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 84642] UI improvement: Google Drive default settings

2015-03-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Ahmad,
I like the idea of adding an “Open Online” to the start center, especially if
Bug 77590 is implemented.

For attachment 114161, your “Add Place” or “Add Online Storage” wizard is
covered in detail by Bug 86703. I’m not sure about putting the wizard inside of
the start center like you’ve shown in attachment 114162 . It may not even be
possible. Caolan and Jan are the experts on that.[1][2]

Once we’ve nailed the wizard UI, it might be possible to use the start center
to select from the added online stores and browse them, like MSO 2013.

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 57174] When Opening Any Dialog the First Value in the Dialog Should be Selected

2015-03-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57174

I'd say the most important control in a dialog should get the focus. Looking
around for a reference at the Gnome HIG I found the following comment in
/gtk/gtkdialog.c

/* A far too tricky heuristic for getting the right initial
* focus widget if none was set. What we do is we focus the first
* widget in the tab chain, but if this results in the focus
* ending up on one of the response widgets _other_ than the
* default response, we focus the default response instead.
*
* Additionally, skip selectable labels when looking for the
* right initial focus widget.
*/

So the right way for LO is to focus the first control that can receive the
focus, as suggested by Eric. And if the dialog is designed well the most
important control is located top left (for LTR layout) and is the first in the
tab sequence, e.g. initialization of the dialog.

Well maybe the naming could be formatted in a way that it is easy to
distinguish automatic names from user set names.

I like Heiko's suggestion.

Note that we already have a sortIntoBestTabTraversalOrder, so we should just be
using the first widget which that method produces.

Any changes or fixes to the tab order should be done inside that method.

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 90279] New: Left click drag in Writer to insert image, textbox, etc.

2015-03-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90279

Bug ID: 90279
Summary: Left click drag in Writer to insert image, textbox,
etc.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: ux-advise
  Assignee: libreoffice-b...@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com
CC: libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org

Created attachment 114399
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=114399&action=edit
screenshot

Saw this feature in Wordperfect and thought it might be a cool feature to have.

When the mouse pointer is not close enough to text for selection, the mouse
pointer goes from an 'I' to a standard mouse pointer, and in this mode, if you
click and drag, it shows a similar outline to the outline that appears when you
are drawing a textbox. Once you let go of the click, a context menu appears
asking what you'd like to place in the area that was drawn.

Hi,

Ok now I return to the Start centre when I close the last document in LO and
only one single application is open in LO. The issue with me was that I was
working with several applications at the same time and everytime I closed the
last document say in Word, Word closed down. I guess from what you're saying,
this is not a bug then.

Cheers,

Kendy pointed out that the 'insert shapes' section was removed from the
properties tab because it doesnt below to properties (bug 73070), but it can be
used as a basis for a shapes tab.
