--- Comment #2 from Yousuf (Jay) Philips ---
Kendy removed the code in 'Automatic' that caused small icons to appear on
Windows (bug 82309) in the below commit, so i'd assume that adjusting the
removed code to check against the screen width would be what is needed, of
course also taking into consideration hidpi.

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 95380] New: "Update links when opening" missing from Impress

2015-10-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95380

Bug ID: 95380
Summary: "Update links when opening" missing from Impress
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: ux-advise
  Assignee: libreoffice-b...@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: katarina.behr...@cib.de
CC: libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org

Both Writer and Calc have the possibility to configure their behaviour when
loading the document that contains links to external sources. It is in Tools >
Options > Calc | Writer > General > Update links when loading, the choice is
between "Always", "On request" and "Never"

Impress, however, has no such option and it seems to always uses "on request"
mode. There is no way to disable that. As we have seen on HH Hackfest, some
users create presentations containing external links too (images, tables etc.)
and it is then PITA for them, being always forced to confirm that they really
want to update the content from external source(s) ...

So the suggestion is either to i) implement this choice in Tools > Options for
Impress too, or better yet ii) make it global for all app

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 87621] SIDEBAR: Break slide transitions into two listboxes

2015-10-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87621

Re: comment #1: Unfortunately the type/subtype classification that exists in
the code is not usable directly as basis for hierarchy in the UI, as for the
(in theory optional) OpenGL transitions that were added in 2007 or so, we use
an arbitrary mapping of invalid type-subtype pairs to transition types.
Nominally most of these "new" transitions are of type "misc shape wipe" even if
they have nothing to do with a shape wipe... with subtypes like "left to
right", "top to bottom" etc that also have no relation to how the transitions
actually look.

(That these "new" transitions are implemented using OpenGL is an implementation
detail which of course should not affect how they show up in the UI at all. Why
they are "optional" is not entirely clear to me.)

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/19648/ has a small change to the transition
list (makes it sorted). Not a huge improvement, and actually I am not even sure
if it is worth it (read commit comment). (But was trivial, code-wise.) Reviews
welcome.

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 95062] Add more options to embed fonts in documents

I can replicate in LibreOffice 5.0.31 in Ubuntu.

Hello, although the report arises as improving, I think there is a bug in the
current implementation of this feature.
Checking my documents with archive manager, I notice that fonts are included,
that I do not use in the document and that increases the size of the document.

alvarezp from the design irc channel stated that the workflow isnt good when
saving a template in the template manager and has suggested that the File >
Templates > Save as Template action be changed as follows.

1. Template Manager title bar text be changed to 'Save Template'

2. Save button be move from top toolbar to the bottom area next to 'Close'
button.

3. Rename 'Close' button to 'Cancel'.

4. Hide 'Get more templates for LibreOffice button'.

5. Hide tab button as you cant save to another template category.

I think this report is very similar to this:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36946

Duplicate?

The idea seems good, there are several transitions and its variants. Viewing on
two lists greatly improve usability and time to search for a particular
transition.

Cheers

Similar to the bullet (.uno:DefaultBullet) and numbering
(.uno:DefaultNumbering) list split buttons found in the formatting toolbar, we
need a similar one for outline lists, to include entries found in the Bullets
and Numbering dialog's Outline tab.

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 95405] Kill focus-stealing search and replace dialog and make functionality available in a sidebar deck

Find (ctrl+F) is non-modal via toolbar. Find & Replace should work similar,
maybe like the stacked/expanded input in Kate
(https://docs.kde.org/trunk4/en/kde-runtime/fundamentals/find.html). Of course
we could also move the search functionality completely into the sidebar, which
would affect all components.
