We can always implement numerous ways of input. But that's not good usability.
Wordperfect and Calligra are different programs that we do not need to copycat.
Users who like the alternative should use it.

This particular ticket discusses an alternative way to draw the outline first
without any good use case. Why is that better than our way, what is missing,
who needs the option... etc. We need to be able to close requests. WONTFIX!

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 107003] EDITING: Gallery image will increase in size when rotating it after adding a note caption

2017-04-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107003

Making the object's height relative sounds reasonable. But that might be not
easy to calculate as today the frame is not adjusted in height but the image
stretched when rotated back with everything set to relative.

Another solution is to protect the rotation when the object is framed and/or
relative size is set. The user gets no feedback why the object changes
unintentionally and will undo the operation or resize in most cases.

Heiko has already suggested that comments go into the revised Navigator
(103030), and comparing the conversion of a dialog into a sidebar deck is
completely different from comparing always visible items in a document and
putting them in a deck.

Looks similar to the 'Simple List 8' style i was proposing, so we'll definitely
have something close to it.

So we need a group button type UNO command of .uno:InsertPageNumberField,
similar to .uno:InsertFieldCtrl. It will be useful button that can go into the
Insert tab of the Notebookbar.

Have a look at the screencast. I think this functionality would be a useful to
the heikobar.

Always having to go to the tabbed button bar to click on a tab to switch it is
bad usability in my view and when i stumbled on the ability to use the mouse
wheel to switch them, i found it refreshing.

--- Comment #2 from Yousuf Philips (jay) ---
This was to be implemented in the easy UI switching mechanism in bug 101249,
but Syzmon wasnt able to complete it.

This should be done as a UNO command, so that it can easily be used when
needed. Hiding of toolbars is available in read only mode (.uno:EditDoc), as
well as full screen mode (.uno:FullScreen), and the .uno:AvailableToolbars UNO
command should be disabled.
