[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 74364] EDITING: Selecting multiple draw objects should show ( unselectable) handles for all objects

2017-08-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74364

ACD Canvas behavior is perhaps a little more intuitive. Selecting multiple
objects (with Shift-click adding them to the temporary group) simply activates
those objects showing handles on them. If you then click and drag one, they all
get dragged (i.e. members of the temporary group). If you resize one, they all
are INDIVIDUALLY resized the same amount. Etc. Clicking outside of any of the
multiple objects deselects them all. I kind of like that behavior, but then I
grew up with it in Mac then Windows.

Until bug 85905 allowing multiple Sidebar Decks is resolved I have not changed
my position regards additional Navigator deck.

The F5 shortcut controls the second detached (docked/floating) instance of the
Navigator deck as its own dialog. The functionally limited Sidebar resident
deck is _secondary_ because we still need to retain the preferred split F5
(Navigator) & F11 (Styles & Formatting) workflows.

However, using an alternate shortcut for the Sidebar resident Navigator deck
would be fine for now until complete control can be provided for the UI.

+F5 appears to be unassigned Keyboard customization in
LO/Writer/Calc/Draw/Impres/Math; although Jay suggest the ++Fn
combinations for Sidebar Tab shortcuts in bug 84502

Definitely not the caption as this usually holds different information like
'Figure 1: Visualization of Foo" where the file itself is rather "foo.png".
However we also have name and description (properties > options in Writer) that
could be used. In Impress/Draw and Calc this dialog doesn't exist, which is odd
(bug 90169 comment 7), but access to both fields is given via main menu.
Other opinions?

As far as I see we're missing consensus/consent to assign F5 to the Navigator
in the side bar.

If.. then possiblefor the 'floating' Navigator:
  - Ctrl+Shift+F5 - already for Go to Page Number
  - Shift+F5 ..

Ideas?

Cannot follow. Advance Slide > Automatically after is a numerical edit
defaulting to 1.00s. I can edit the field without glitches under Windows 7 - it
depends on the OS/DE how numerical steppers are handled, i.e. when exactly the
auto adjustment starts, meaning onkeyup or onleave. Setting the ticket to NAB.

What is the use case? "...would be good..." is not good. Guess you have
consistency and detectability of functions in mind.
What should happen when the field contains data? Guess it should be overridden.
What happens in case of multi selection? Maybe disable the function.
Why is this type of interaction needed anyway since Calc works with functions.
For instance it could be =INFO("SheetName").

Hi guys,

What the decision here.
I found an other issue with this previews, that if you set a different color
and then click reset, the color picker button shows the right color (the color
before the change), but the preview is not updated accordingly. This issue
would be solved if we remove them of course.
