First of all, it's not a bug => NAB.

I hope the confusion will be solve with this proposal
https://design.blog.documentfoundation.org/2019/11/05/proposal-to-conveniently-highlight-and-inspect-styles-in-libreoffice-writer/

The supposed workflow with HTML-formatted clipboard content is to either insert
unformatted text per paste special (shift+ctrl+v) or to remove the direct
formatting afterwards with format > clear direct formatting (ctrl+m).

Thinking about a glossary dialog similar to a bibliography. Or is this totally
wrong?

The hyperlink dialog is more or less simple, we should improve the summary.

I personally never use anything like paste as HTML or paste as RTF. Just the
plain Paste (Ctrl+V) and Paste Unformatted Text (Shift+Alt+Ctrl+V) options.

I am totally happy with these two hotkeys so I would vote against this change.

> ... was there any reason not to use system default?

It was a developers choice that followed branding in replacing the OOo era
launch panel. IIRC the fixed colors of the Start Center were hardcoded to make
it consistent across the os/DE builds rather than theming.

That and it is difficult on Windows and macOS to extract os/DE theming to apply
to UI elements--we don't get passed everything we'd need from the theme.

We already had to tweak special case of HC support (bug 71511) where
LibreOffice detects a11y support and responds--but LO still has glitches when
toggling the os/DE between modes, annoying.

Likely the whole theming framework needs refactoring to do this smoothly,
native WinRT/UWP support and Cocoa APIs.

Controlling the 'white' backing window of the StartCenter would support the
a11y needs of OP. But work on theming is also needed for the newer DE modes now
offered on Windows (bug 118320) and macOS (118017).

> Changing this leads to much more regression and confusion.

Wait, that's not what happens. The source style (i.e., the style of the copied
text) is applied only if the target paragraph *is* empty; if the target
paragraph is *not* empty, then the source text is changed to the target
paragraph's style. I agree that the latter behavior is correct; my argument has
been that pasting source text into an empty paragraph in a different style
should *also* be changed to the target style. (In particular with reference to
footnotes, but also applicable to everything else.) It is crucial, however,
that manually applied character attributes (bold, italics, etc.) be preserved
when pasting changes the style of the source text.

Would be a very limited functionality. Writer as well as Impress/Draw are just

Do you mean with "Paste Formatting" to paste the styles and direct formatting
from a copied source? If so, what happens when you copy a paragraph with style
Citation and some words have a character style Emphasis and some are links with
Internet Link. Or you copy two paragraphs, one with Citation the other with
Source Text, plus a lot of bad direct formatting. How should that be applied to
the target cursor?

in case of Clone Formatting it's clear, you take only the current cursor
position.

Ctrl (or Cmd) + Enter is not the same as a page break with style. If you go via
Insert -> More Breaks -> Manual Break -> Page Break and set any style but None
you can switch per double-click to Chaiptre.

Admittedly, None is actually leading to Default and not being the same is
confusing. I don't know why and if we can solve this.

Technically they are the same, more or less. But different of course from the
user perspective and we do use Slide vs. Page everywhere.

You can apply the number format to the current object (text box, shape) or to
all objects on the slide/page. And in case of Impress it's possible to change
the master, which makes not so much sense for Draw since this master is rather
a static background.

So what we should do in case of Draw is
* Change "Slide" to "Page"
* Hide "Apply to Master" button

Code pointer is sd/source/ui/dlg/BulletAndPositionDlg.cxx

Those info boxes break the workflow and are annoying. We should rather block
the ability to use even/odd numbers depending on the page style. And perhaps
use a static text about the blank pages in the dialog.

Agree with the request. Direct printing should respect the configuration Print

I understand the idea as buttons show the current position in the list and
allow to quickly jump to it.

However, this configuration is not meant for basic users and I would expect
experts to deal with long lists. And I wouldn't say the application colors are
"useful and interesting setting".

So my take is -1.
