[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 129387] LibreOffice Calc - Keyboard Shortcut to Paste Format Only - Enhancement Request
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129387 stefane.guevrem...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|1 |0 Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED --- Comment #4 from stefane.guevrem...@gmail.com --- If the LibreOffice community decides it's not a valuable function to have, then that's that. Personally, I believe it's very valuable. When I use Google Sheets, whenever I edit a document, it's rare that I don't use this function. "Clone tool" and "Double Click Clone tool" do not offer the same effectiveness. I'm not a coder, and I don't know what modifications for LibreOffice this entails. It's very easy for me to make suggestions. I know it is another thing to do the work. [Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 130547] Function & Hotkey to Paste Format only in LO Writer - Enhancement Request
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130547 stefane.guevrem...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|1 |0 Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED --- Comment #2 from stefane.guevrem...@gmail.com --- That's actually a good question. It could be the same functionality as with the "Clone Formatting". E.g. If a Non-formatted text and a bold text are in the same selection, then the clone tool is pressed, when pasted, the clone tool seems to ignore any format selected. It's too confusing to know what the user wants to paste, and I agree with that. In Google Docs, they seem to have a different approach. I haven't quite figured out the logic behind the function. Sometimes some attributes get pasted and other times, others. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise

Nope. More like the "Area" tab (in, for example, Paragraph Style dialog), where clicking on a radio button shows all and only the controls that correspond to the button. I love to read concepts and not just the final artwork. What you write makes a lot of sense and I can easily follow the idea of streaming everything around office into the TDF's paperclip logo. To some extend I see also the swatch [1] being represented, at least the colors are greenish. We could also update the color swatch (it's on my todo list anyway). Or, if you want to play, make the drawing more #18A303-ish. But I'd prefer a new swatch. Regarding the About dialog we would have to move things around a bit but that's not a big deal. While the need is clear for footnotes and endnotes (bug 100018), we have a well-known workflow in general. What we can do is: a) Keep the source PS not only for empty target paragraphs but also ignore all white-space: when pasting somewhere in the middle of a paragraph it is very unlikely that the source PS should be applied, so just ignoring white-space might solve the actual problem b) Introduce a new paste special option (or a new UNO command in order to assign a shortcut) that pastes without paragraph style but not unformatted: with this option the user can decide whether the target PS is overridden or not; the current behavior of paste and paste special wouldn't change c) Enhance the PS attributes by a flag "[ ] Override style on paste" that allows to define individually whether or not pasting formatted clipboard content should change the target PS; this solution could be used for Footnotes as requested in bug 100018 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise
