[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 117715] Settings from Conditional formatting should overwrite direct formatting (only number formatting remained in Comment 4)

2020-03-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117715

I've removed some of the conditional formatting from the spredsheet and
replaced it with what looks to me the same thing but with different Style
names. I'm still having formatting issues but the date now seems to render
correctly in 6.3.5.2.

In any case it still seems like an issue where things worked in 6.2.8.2 and not
in 6.3X.

See no need for this.

Default bullets for the GUI are drawn from OpenSymbol font.

Though we do need a little tweak there to move some PUA glyphs onto their
correct Unicode point:

E00C -> U+25C6 BLACK DIAMOND
E00A -> U+25A0 BLACK SQUARE

And helpful would be the addition of a OpenSymbol appropriate glyph for U+2610
BALLOT BOX

Otherwise, U+25CB WHITE CIRCLE is available to assign as a bullet via the
customize. While any of:

U+25A1 WHITE SQUARE - □
U+274F LOWER RIGHT DROP-SHADOWED WHITE SQUARE - ❏
U+2750 UPPER RIGHT DROP-SHADOWED WHITE SQUARE - ❐
U+2751 LOWER RIGHT SHADOWED WHITE SQUARE - ❑
U+2752 UPPER RIGHT SHADOWED WHITE SQUARE - ❒

Are available from the OpenSymbol font to assign to a bullet listing--though
the customization allows a selection from any font to be used as a bullet.

I can't honestly say when I last used the check box, or where, so enhancement
it is.

You are right, checkbox and bullet list are different. Presumably one could
type in something into a real checkbox, but I never used mine for anything
other than checking off on a paper copy.

I'd be happy with just an empty square.

Do you remember the version of LO. I've checked back to LO 5.4.7, but couldn't
find it. So perhaps indeed an enhancement request and not a regression. I
support the idea, although an empty box for a checklist is something different
than a bullet.

Not a Bug and by design while consolidating the dialogs.

Numbers entered as table cell text are direct formatted as characters
individually, or for the paragraph.

While a table cell assigned Numbering or Bullets is already exposed for direct
formatting via the context menu 'Bullets and Numbering' -> 'Bullets and
Numbering...' pop-up dialog (.uno:OutlineBullet) where the 'Customize' tab
controls the direct formatting.

Likewise, for style based authoring the 'Table contents' paragraph style
provides the 'Outline & Numbering' panel for droplist selection and 'Edit
style' of the 'Numbering style' applied.

It has been trivial to customize the Context menu and assign commands like the
.uno:OutlineBullet dialog to an additional location if desired, but it is
already there.

Number format in the context menu of tables in Writer shouldn't be too
important. So better we keep the menu concise => WFM. Opposite opinion?
