Re: [Libreoffice-ux-advise] Liberation fonts vs Google croscore fonts

2015-10-29 Thread Francisco Adrián Sánchez
Bastián, when using Carlito specifically, I see that some numbers appear to
have different sizes. I'm far from my computer, but I remember that number
8 was taller than the rest.

Moreover, Carlito is based on Lato, which doesn't show that issue. Carlito
has a smaller x height in order to look more like Calibri, so I think that
this transformation plus a bañar rehint are the responsable of this.

That's why I'd advise against Carlito as a default typeface.

Furthermore, though I like Caladea, in my opinion it's inferior with
respect to Liberation Serif. Plus, --and this is important-- Caladea lacks
of greek support.

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] Liberation fonts vs Google croscore fonts

2015-10-07 Thread Bastián Díaz
I opened a thread on the mailing list for users to know why the
"liberation fonts" are above the "google croscore fonts" when the latter
have better quality.

http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/msg46241.html

From my point of view, google croscore fonts should be included as
standard in LibreOffice, prioritizing quality.

Is there any reason to keep liberation fonts?

,Cheers
