In New Hampshire, they do care! Representatives in New Hampshire do not receive high salaries like in other states, they receive only US $100 per month. I think there was link on how to follow instructions to express your support. Jean Take action in Free Software Foundation campaigns: https://www.fsf.org/campaigns In support of Richard M. The software that NH uses is made globally, so, the actions/opinions of software developers outside NH already matters. Lawmakers should be trying to do what is right and good and just and that includes accepting help figuring that out from people outside their state who want to help, especially those with expertise in some specific issue. It is my understanding that lots of new ideas in state laws get their start in some single state with the help of experts and activists that live across the country, then that law inspires other states to make similar laws, often copying much of the first law. -- Ian Kelling | Senior Systems Administrator, Free Software Foundation GPG Key: B125 F60B 7B28 7FF6 A2B7 DF8F 170A F0E2 9542 95DF https://fsf.org | https://gnu.org ___ libreplanet-discuss mailing list libreplanet-discuss@libreplanet.org https://lists.libreplanet.org/mailman/listinfo/libreplanet-discuss

I live in Massachusetts, about 35 miles from the New Hampshire border. RMS lives jsut a few towns away. This is an interesting article, but other than reading the article, I don't understand what action you think we ought to take regarding this. Legislators in any particular state legislature care primarily about retaining the support of the people who elected them. They don't even care much about the opinions of people in other parts of the same state, and they sure as hell don't care about the opinions of people in a different state.
