Re: Wanted: Libretto Port Replicator
Date: Fri, 10 Nov 2000 09:36:55 +0800 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Wanted: Libretto Port Replicator I do not have the smaller port replicator but I do have an enhanced one which I used to use it with my ex-Libretto 60. I believe it the same model for Libretto 50CT an 70CT (part no. PA2718U). I used it for about 2 months before I sold my Libretto 60 and bought a Libretto 110CT. It is in excellent condition and is still in its original box it came from complete with a rectangular plastic box that can double as a hand rest. If anyone is interested, please make me a reasonable offer and keep in mind that I'm in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (for S&H purposes). Today, however, they've finally > caught up at 400+Mhz for laptop CPUs, and I'd be happy on one. HP pioneered the research that made Crusoe possible. They ran software on an emulator that emulated the processor it was run on, and it was faster than running natively. Why? Because it could analyse the code and optimise on the fly. The HP software (Dynamo) is discussed at Ars Technica http://arstechnica.com/reviews/1q00/dynamo/dynamo-1.html This sort of stuff is gonna be huge, and the PC press (as usual) are too clueless to realise what it means. Hence their benchmarks are useless.
