Hi Gerhard,

I visited the link you suggested but couldn't tell which drivers could be used
on the libretto and what the listed ones were for... The 110 uses basically the
same hardware as the 100 and i'm pretty sure the sound is the same--what driver
do you use for sound on the 110?

Win2k runs great but the lack of sound is a bummer. I'll try a fresh install
w/o the recovery cd but i'm expecting problems with the display and perhaps the
fdd. I'll report back my findings on the fresh install but if possible could
you direct me as to which driver files to d/load from your link?

Also do you have the service pack 1 installed? I'm wondering if this could help
my problem in any way?

Thanks,

/ian...

 Hi Ian!

At the moment I can speak only for a Lib110 which runs with Win2k. No
 problems with the sound.
My newest achievement, a Lib100 is not yet installed!

NEVER try to update a MS product...

Throw away the recovery disk, get all Win2k drivers from the net (see
 my
 recent postings, look at
 http://support.toshiba-tro.de/win2000/2000update.htm) and install Win2k
 on

The sound driver is included in Win2k, also the FDD driver.

Win2k runs great but the lack of sound is a bummer. I'll try

Use from my suggested link:
- Toshiba Value added Logical Device
- Toshiba Power Extensions 1
- Toshiba Utilities
That's all!

Also do you have the service pack 1 installed? I'm wondering
 if this could help
 my problem in any way?

You should use SP1, but it has no influence on your problem.

Note: All my experience is from a Lib110, my second Lib, a Lib100 is still
not yet installed, because I'm so busy with writing mails to other Lib
users... ;-))

has anybody attempted and if so with what success win 2000 installation on
libretto 50(4 gigs over clocked to 100mhz) please let me know

Done/do it... Gave up getting the screen driver to work, it's a base vga
driver. Everything else works. But it needs more RAM. It's ok to use just
for networking stuff, but IE/OE take a long time to pop up. YMMV.

Can't play MIDI files

2001-03-28 Thread KINLEY_ROBERT

Date: Wed, 28 Mar 2001 13:42:56 +0100
From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: Can't play MIDI files

Hi

I've just inherited a nice Libretto 100 (it uses NT 4.0) and I'm very
pleased
with it ... except when I try to play *.mid files.

Everything looks like it's working OK, ... the progress bar thingy moves
along and the timer ticks away nicely ... but there's no sound .

Fiddling with the volume controls has no effect, and on investigation
the system claims that the drivers are installed and working correctly.

Oddly, .wav files play OK andrealaudio and video clips
from the web work fine.

I don't have any manuals, so there may perhaps be some simple
key combination which influence how the speakers work ( if
anyone can guide me to an online owner's manual or similar
I'd be very grateful) .

Many thanks . Bob Kinley

Ian, I am running 2000 on a 100ct. I have loaded the tecra 8100 w2k sound
drivers.
They load correctly and the special yamaha Ymersion attribute works correctly.
Tecra Yamaha DS-XG WDM. this is available from the toshiba t810snd2.exe
at http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/supp_tech_model_index.jsp
maybe installing this will jumpstart your audio drivers.
