Subject: Attention all Australian Libretto users

Hi Guys,
I just thought that I would fill you in on some
exciting news.
The new Toshiba Libretto will be released in Australia
in September.
This is actually supposed to be kept top secret. I'm
not supposed to tell anyone :-(
I have got this official information from Toshiba.
Although it will look the same as the Japanese model,
the specifications will probably differ. Also expect
it to cost a fair bit more than the earlier
Libretto's.

>From Stuart :-P

P.S Can anyone tell me the difference between the
Toshiba Libretto L1 and the L2??

Thanks Ian,
I will give Windows ME a miss then. I will get myself
a copy of Windows 2000 and install that instead.

Thanks again. You have saved me a lot of problems :-)

Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone can help me please.
I have a Libretto 100CT.
Can anyone tell me if 64 megabytes is the maximum
amount of memory I can have?
Is there any way of putting more in?

Keep smiling :-)

Did the guy who spotted the IBM laptop memory upgrade get the pages translated?
cos that was pushed beyond manufacturer spec.

Cheers

Also, only Windows Media Player 7 or higher is a pig. Older versions like 6
are just fine and can be installed w/o worry. 7 unfortunately, went big and
threw in huge visualizations, artful windows, etc. - all of which only made it
dog slow and buggy.

Beyond that, there's DOSAmp and the equivalents under DOS.

And for win98, there's www.98lite.net to strip out IE (which is a memory
hog), and a whole slew of yucky MS junk to make it run even better and faster
on limited spec. Libbys.

Re: Preferred version of Linux on 110?

From: David Chien <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Subject: Re: Preferred version of Linux on 110?

Doesn't matter one bit as they'll all run and install on your Libretto.

However, RedHat is always a 'solid' choice given that there's always some port
available for anything new out.

My own preference is for SUSE, but only because they had a 'nice' install back
in version 5.x for booting from a DOS partition directory install. For the
most part however, most modern versions of Linux have gotten so good, they
pretty much just install and go (at least for me).

which means that when you encounter any trouble, expect to learn lots of Linux,
on the other hand..
