By the looks of the aspect of the screen and the metal sticker on the upper left I would say a US-spec 50 or 70. He was, 5 years ago. 3 years ago, he tried to leave but unsuccessfully unscribbled for a year, then gave up and took up ballooning to escape the Internet traffic. I remember this guy! [LIB] Re: [LIBRETTO] Libretto Digest #1727
Date: Tue, 02 Jul 2002 19:35:56 -0400 From: Eugene Hsu [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [LIBRETTO] Libretto Digest #1727 Regarding the IBM 8.1 GB HD's, the price was cheaper than previously mentioned by the COMPGEEKS mailing list. With a discount code, each unit was only $49.00, so I bought two. The unit comes formated as FAT (16 or 32 I do not recall), and it is immediately recognized in Windows 98 and Windows 2K. Power comes through the PCMCIA card, but there seems to be an external power adapter that may or may not be connected. As a side note, the speed doesn't seem very fast, but then again my 70CT is pretty slow itself, and it is going through a 16 bit interface. Last night I backed-up 7GB of files from my 70CT, and it did not complain. What I have not tested is what would happen if I hook up both of the drives to the Libretto with the enhanced docking station. I wonder whether having three hard drive controllers on a 70CT would really confuse it. Power is from the pcmcia slot, but I am interested in taking this unit apart (and losing the 2 year warranty) to see whether external power can be used. The clever idea that I have (might be insane) is that if external power can be used to power the HD unit, then a 40GB+ laptop drive can be installed there. The next step would be to purchase the new Toshiba MP3 player (iPod clone) that is sold in Japan now because it supports removable PCMCIA disk drives. With this setup, I could have a small portable MP3 player with the 5GB HD as standard, and then at home and work I could have an MP3 monster base station with 40+ GB HD's using these external units. Most likely I will not do that, but you have to have some dreams. :) This mail copied from the COMPGEEKS mailing list: Save over 25% on this quality external PCMCIA (PC Card) Notebook Hard Drive from IBM! In any case, he sent out a note that the film arrived, payment expected and they'd be shipped soon. about $27 for a sheet. resonable and fair. you don't need to worry about stripping it off later - you can just cut a tiny sample to put on the corner of the screen to 'test' it and see if it's worth it. - something I plan on doing before retrofittting the entire screen. also will test to see if scratch resisitance is as good or not anyways, looking forward to the film. = adorable toshiba libretto The latest news and information for the Toshiba Libretto owner. http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ __ Do You Yahoo!? From the FAQ: Q: How will Fossett keep in touch with Mission Control at Washington University? A: A laptop computer will be Fossett's primary means of communicating (by satellite e-mail) with Mission Control and his meteorology team. Transmissions will be sent via the INMARSAT C satellite, which sends the data from an antenna on the balloon to a satellite and on to receiving stations on Earth. It operates at approximately 2,400 bits per second. INMARSAT C, which is a satellite e-mail, will be the main means of communication with the Mission Control Center. = adorable toshiba libretto The latest news and information for the Toshiba Libretto owner. http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ __ Do You Yahoo!?
