So in a scenario where you had the above utility installed on a 'Big'
HDD (20GB, 30GB, 40GB, whatever), and then the system detected that it
was over-heating, where would the resulting "hardware" hibernate (ie the
one that can't be disabled) be written?

  Use mine at http://160.87.24.214/ezdrv909.zip

Tested and works fine for me.

Installs a small program into sector 0 of the master boot record on
your HD.
When the PC boots, it loads this in, overlays the old BIOS Int13 calls
that don't work, and lets you correctly see the full HD size >8.4GB.

You can deinstall and install it over and over again on >8.4GB HDs
with partitions below the 8.4GB boundary working just fine if they were
created already before installation. I've tried this and it works fine
for me booting into Win98SE with or without it as a primary 4GB
partition created on the HD before installing it.

All partitions created after it is installed above the 8.4GB boundary
will be invisible when the software is removed from the HD. They'll
show up again if you put it back in.

Does not affect system BIOS at all.

Safe and works fine for me.

Dead Battery?

2001-05-09 Thread Chris Hudak

Date: 9 May 2001 10:00:10 MDT
From: Chris Hudak <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Subject: Dead Battery?

My L100 battery seems to have freaked out or died,
It has been giving great life and I left it in the
Libby for a couple days, when I put it on the dock
to charge the charge light did not come on, so I
booted in to 98 and 98 reports it as charging at
3% and it is still able to poll the battery and
get the Toshiba info.

Any Ideas, I don't figure it could drop dead overnight
and its been on the charger for an hour and still no
charge lights.

98 reload, no floppy

Subject: 98 reload, no floppy

Ok, reloaded Windows98se and now my floppy will not work in Windows,
tried loading the 110CT floppy driver, no luck.

I also noticed there is an extra "Tape Device" listed as the
toshiba floppy, the floppy shows up under floppy controllers, but it has
the exclamation point.

Scandisk

From: Chris Hudak <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Subject: Scandisk

Is there any reason scandisk(98) is so
damn slow?
I am reloading and it has been almost 30min so far and its only
62% complete. It does not even appear to be hitting
the harddrive much.

Also, it it possible to search this mailing list archives?
I looked, but it seems that it is only available in .htm.

Is there a standard driver package or good instructions on loading
98SE to get the most out of the libby 100 and power management?

Thanks
