Dxinfo.exe for DX v5 on my copy of W98 only reports CPU: Intel Pentium 
MMX.  DX on WinXP reports the o/ced 266 CPU.  Don't know about the versions 
in between.

I used to use CPUIdle that reported the CPU speed as I recall.  Maybe a free 
trial version of it would do the job.
