I get my tools from sysinternals.com most of the time. For fast
performance I really would look at going free unix. Why not pad your
resume while working on antique hardware?

Wintop was very simplistic and limited. Quite some time back I was seeing
the system slow up for some unexplainable reason, and wintop showed nothing
unusual running. I hunted around and tested a bunch of shareware before
settling on TaskInfo2000. That version was actually freeware. I think the
newer versions are shareware. But it provides seemingly endless info on
running apps.. more that I can fathom. Maybe it's still out there on the
net somewhere. I have it archived if anyone would like to try it.

Someone mentioned they were looking for a task monitor similar to task
manager in XP but for earlier versions of Windows. Microsoft actually
produced one for Windows 95 which I have installed and used. I don't have
an exact link but the program was called WinTop, and shows a dynamic list
of processes and cpu usage.

Hope this helps.
