Thanks Pres Waterman, W2PW c/o 112 Motors, LLC Long Island Ford, Kia and Used Dealer GO BILLS! Here's something that you might find amusing Pres. I did a search in Mike's list archives for the term subscribe to see how many times people screwed up trying to unsubscribing and subscribing to the list. Walking through each page of about 18 pages per year of posts by thead, I checked 2000, 2001, and the posts so far in 2002. I also weeded out the Re: replies correcting people's mistakes. I didn't try to find all of the variants of unscribbling. That'd scribbled my already scrambled quasi-humanoid bio-memory modules. Check all the inventive ways people came up with to screw up: -- 2000 (4390 messages in all) 62 unsubscribe 8 cmd: unsubscribe 26 unsubscribe DIGEST 3 cmd: unsubscribe digest 1 subject=cmd:unsubscribe 2 DIGEST unsubscribe 1 Subject unsubscribe 5 cmd: subscribe digest 1 unsubscribe (please) 1 cmd: unsubscribe 1 re unsubscribe 1 cmd : unsubscribe 3 cmd:unsubscribe DIGEST 1 cmd:unsubscribewt.digest 2 cmd:unsubscribeDIGEST 1 ?subject=cmd:unsubscribe digest 1 cmd.unsubscribe 1 cmd: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 1 unsubscribeDigest 1 Thanks a lot / happy 2001 / cmd:unsubscribe, 1 cmd: subscribe 3 subscribe --- 127 Total for 2000 -- 2001 (4440 messages in all) 25 unsubscribe 3 cmd: unsubscribe 1 ---UNSUBSCRIBE--- 1 FW: cmd:subscribe 2 subject=cmd:unsubscribe 1 cmd:unsubscribe in the subject line 2 cmd=unsubscribe 1 Unsubscribe!!! 1 command:subscribe 1 Unsubscribe now! 2 [LIBRETTO] cmd unsubscribe 1 [LIB] unsubscribe 4 cmd: unsubscribe DIGEST 1 ?subject=cmd:unsubscribe digest 19 unsubscribe digest 4 cmd:unsubscribeDIGEST 2 subject=cmd:unsubscribe DIGEST 3 cmd:unsubscribe-digest 1 cmd:unsubscribe UNSUBSCRIBE DIGEST-- 1 cmd:unsubscribeUNSUBSCRIBE DIGEST-- 1 cmd:unsubscribe DIGEST, Scott.Smith 1 subscribe --- 78 Total for 2001 -- 2002 (2184 messages in all) 4 [LIB] cmd: unsubscribe 6 [LIB] unsubscribe 1 LIB] unsubscribe digest --- 11 Total to April 10th not including today's cmd:unsubscribe. Well okay... 12 Total to April 10th -- I couldn't believe that last figure. Only 11 mis-posted unsubscribe attempts using the characters 'subscribe' in order. But walking through each page of 9 pages of posts for this year, that's all I found. I'm sure there must be a number of unscribabiblers in these somewhere. Look at how the numbers fell in 2001 from 2000 even though the total posts for each year are about the same. It was sometime mid-September when Dan changed the text of the taglines in an attempt to make the process of unsubscribing a bit more clear. I'd say either people signing on and off the list are more intelligent over the past year of so (unlikely), or Dan's changes have actually helped.
