Anyway my 802.11b Orinocco Gold card is a 16bit card as it works in my pals iPaq which is definately not CardBus... and it's a cracking card to boot! :) That's what I remember about these things anyway. -Original Message- From: dm [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 18 March 2004 05:49 To: Libretto Subject: [LIB] LIb70 and Wifi Date: Wed, 17 Mar 2004 21:47:14 -0800 From: dm [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: LIb70 and Wifi Hello all those Libby users. I'm here with my trusty 70 and I would love to get on my new home network. I am running a 802.11g system here and would like to run on it. Correct me if I am wrong: the 70 require a 16 bit card. 1. are there any 16 bit 802.11g cards? 2. if not, are 16 bit 802.11b cards easy to find? Any other advice? thanks dave ** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ - Archives ---TO UNSUBSCRIBE--- Reply to any of the list messages. If you use a 3.3V card in a 70 or below sooner or later it'll fry. Good point, I'd forgotten about that. It's also one of the original reasons I bought the Orinocco, they (at the time) were marked as both 3.3V and 5V compatible though that may have changed over the last 18 months or so since I bought them. YMMV. ** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ - Archives ---TO UNSUBSCRIBE--- Reply to any of the list messages. YMMV. The orinocco is a good card (if its the same one I'm thinking of). A friend of mine has the 70 and claims he gets 150 Mbs with it. I like netgear. Very fast plus the manufacturers of the Prism chip support linux very well. john ** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ - Archives ---TO UNSUBSCRIBE--- Reply to any of the list messages.
